Magdalena has a "tourism corridor" with shops that sell a variety of Mexican goods, from art and crafts to headwear and clothing. The stores are located in the blocks that surround the Plaza Monumental, and the variety of goods sold is the best you'll find between Nogales and Hermosillo.
In addition to the shops that adjoin the plaza, if you take a walk in the streets around the plaza, you just may find some treasures.
