Magdalena's Temple Santa Maria Magdalena is located on the town's main plaza, Plaza Monumental. The church was built on the site of a mission church originally established by Jesuit Missionary Francisco Eusebio Kino.

On one side of the church is a shrine to Saint San Francisco Javier, and is the focal point of a festival every year to celebrate the saint.
